Got myself into trouble again by saying I’d produce a skin for Il2 then finding out theres sweet FA on the net! 😮
I’m looking for any info regarding any Spitfire MkV that was known to have been the regular mount of Al Deere. I know he flew Vs as Squadron Leader Commanding 403 Sqn but can anyone help with regards to a/c serial nos., codes (KH-something, i’d reckon) and individual markings – i know his BoB MkI was Kiwi 1. Photographic evidence or profile would be the big prize, but i’m not gonna hold my breath….
Have plenty of info bout the MkIX he flew it’s just the V thats seems to have faded into obscurity.
Thanks again guys, any light you might be able to shed on this one will be much appreciated 🙂

Its a tricky one, he flew AD251 from early August to November 1941, so at first it would have been green/brown/sky,but as you probably know the camo changed to green/grey in mid-August ’41. Fuselage roundels A1 definately.

Thanks Prune!
602, eh? that was early in his career if i’m not mistaken. No individual a/c letter – well at least the serial might lead to some clues.
what do you reckon – A type roundels most likely, but which camo?
green/grey/grey or green/brown/duck-egg?

When Deere was a Flight Commander with 602 Sqn. he made claims flying AD251. The codes for 602 were LO but I don’t know his individual letter.
