I just bought some new binoculars and have been out at southside MAN and surrounds today testing them in the gloom and rain – verdict is i can highly recommend them.
They are a pair of Olympus DPS 1 Zoom 8-16×40 on offer at Dixons currently for £69 (allegedly reduced from £140).
Very bright and sharp images (suprisingly crisp and flare free for zoom optics), seem quite resistant to fogging-up and feel well built. The 8-16 zoom gives a usefull range at the airport. I could get close in on the AVP and the terminal buildings from the southside mounds.
