Biplanes

since the transport aircraft have become more heavy, need more load transport, and greater range, the biplanes are the best alternative of design??, to design wide wings (to mantain high aspect ratio with more wing area) could become unpractic (even could increase the drag) to use 4 relative small wings could to be the solution??, it is necessary to remember that at subsonic speed you could increase the wing area, but it wont induce sustantial lift if its aspect ratio is low, there are proyects of such configuration?? :confused:
