Bird Dog

Recently I’ve been asked about the Devon based Cessna O-1 Bird Dog, of which here are a few photos to illustrate her.

That isnt the Hood from Thunderbirds sat in the back, but me when I was given a flight in her in 2003. I was given the choice of either the Cessna or a Fairchild PT-19 and chose the former. Everyone else the same day flew the PT-19, but having flown in Auster 9s, it was good to see what the comparison was like.
