I’ve read his obit several times over. I can’t hardly believe it. What a hero!!!! Only knew the story from the film, but the real story is so much better. Imagine if the Nazis had acquired the Bomb. I say no more.

What a guy
What a team,
What an amazing effort,
What if they hadn’t succeeded…?

I went to Rjukan in 2001 during a vist where I was flying my 1/6 scale B-17 at a model show. There was particular interest in the model as it was copied from one of the aircraft that took part in the bombing raid. During the trip, we visited the Hydro-electric plant, crossing the bridge over the gorge, and also saw the lake where the ferry was sunk.

Having seen the landscape, gorge, and hydro plant, it really brought to life the reality, difficulties and achievements of the raid.

Amazing guys, all of them.
