A day off today, so it was onto one of Mr Branson’s red and silver extortion machines and off to Birmingham International.
It was one of those frustrating days where the light is up and down like a yoyo, so the quality is a bit variable, I’m afraid.
B757 VP-BUJ of Uzbekistan Airways
B757 EZ-A012 of Turkmenistan Airlines
A320 JY-JAR of Jordan Aviation, working for LTE.
B767 G-OBYH of Britannia Airways – I simply can’t bring myself to call them Thomsonfly.
“Boeing MD-90” HB-JIB of Hello, in British Jet livery.
Emb145 HB-JAY of Swiss International – I know Shamrock321 is missing them…..
A320 EC-ISI of LTE, still wearing “Volar” titles.
A320 D-ANNA of Blue Wings – this operated the GermanWings flight.
Enjoy…… 😀

Excellent shots Grey…
The viewing area at BHX gives many chances to photograph aircraft. Where Grey area took his shots were at the picnic area but if you have a small enouch camera lens, it will fit through the gaps in the fence. If not, a pair of step ladders are required.
Nah, if not a pair of wire cutters is required unless the hole made by the last guy is still there! 😉

Just reread the original post in this thread ‘Extortion machines’.
So true, although they are superb trains, the prices are incredible. I recently looked for Leeds-Birmingham International, £60 return, its only costing me £25 to go do DUB!

If you let me know by PM what times you’ll be there Comet i can tell you of any movements you are interested in.[/QUOTE]
Thanks Future Pilot. I did a check on the train times the other day and it looks like a replacement bus from New Street to International on the day I come down from York, which is gross because it will take longer than the train.
I’ll have to turn PMs back on again, it used to give me grief when I had them on before because I kept getting notification that I had new messages when I didn’t. Hopefully it will work OK this time.

Some great shots there Grey! 🙂 Didn’t hang around to catch the AI 777? or was it late again lol
Seem’s Jon answered the viewing question already :D|
Love Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, they are ones I would like to bag but I don’t know what I’ll get Sunday afternoon and Monday morning.

you must be the Premier photographer on this forum
Thanks a lot, Steve.
But at least four regulars would have to chuck their cameras into the bin for that to become true.

Sensational shots once again, you must be the Premier photographer on this forum

Another place is in the long stay car park ajacent to Rwy 33 which allows good head on or side shots of aircraft. Again, a pair of step ladders are needed

Excellent stuff there, I can’t wait to get back to BHX in slightly more favourable weather than when I was there last time.

great pics, whats the viewing like there then?

So you’ve somehow resorted to calling them Boeings now.
I didn’t call it a Boeing, I called it a “Boeing” – a subtle but important distinction. 🙂
