Some extracts from a mixed afternoon at this delightful base – although as Dean`s thread says , the light did drop, glad I didn`t wait for the 6 o`clock slot when 558 went tech. Hope you find something of interest!
Starting with the Parachutists ( Falcons?)

Then the display by the Chinook who also dropped the parachutists

Then the beatiful black Hunter-

The Nord/108

Peter T. provided a wonderful display

……….then the Reds clearly under strict instructions from control to make a low departure – starting low…..

…………staying very low….

………..and finding fuel efficient track through the scenic route!- prelude to immaculate low show.

Hi Dean,
Thanks for comments, – I was along towards the end of the in use runway with the gorgeous backdrop of the s. farm and recycling plant – not far away from you I suspect – glad you saw the Tiffy do a vertical depart – being 3 squadron as opposed to the 29 display team they are not normally priveleged to use burners at Coningsby – my horizontal departure (by car) was earlier with Waddington early morning start for 8 squadron day. I know of folks in my neck of the woods who travelled some distance to Waddo for the Thursday night departure(cancelled) of 558 and again on the following scrubbed Friday night.
Cheers
Ian

Great shots.
Where were you stood.
We stayed until 6.30, got soaking wet, but saw the most amazing departing take-off from the Typhoon, it almost went up vertical.
Thanks for posting.
Dean:)
