Did anything positive happen to her in the end?

Hi All,
I suppose I just got a bit ahead of myself never read the 16/3 post and just commented on the Flypast article but like everyone else just glad it has been saved through a very generous action of Mr Spoors on behalf of the TBPA and will obviously donate when I can…….:eagerness:

It has been posted elsewhere that the whole matter involving the donated funds is in the hands of the Police, and at the moment on going, I doubt anything will be known of all that until the Police have finished what they are doing, which I would imagine will take some time, it took quite a while before they were able to “discuss” the matter with the person responsible.

Static means you can’t even apply battery power to switch on the nav lights! 🙁
Graham
And seeing Graham has all the ITAR paperwork for a UK Phantom acquisition, he knows.

Static means exactly that .. STATIC..

From what I have heard, sadly not
By: Wyvernfan - 18th January 2016 at 20:46
That’s all very good news. But does static still allow ground running and taxiing?

They have already stated that ITAR provisions are standard for a UK phantom sale. Static only.

That’s great news 🙂

Well, Well, Well.
XV582 ‘Black Mike’ Purchase – Press Release – 001/16 For those of you that have been following the progress of The British F4 Phantom Aviation Groups’ campaign to save XV582 ‘Black Mike’ from its uncertain future. You will be aware the road has not been as smooth as most would have liked. However I would like to announce that our campaign was a success. With the kind and generous help from Mr Gary Spoors and his company GJD Services. We have been able to secure ‘Black Mike’, enabling us to focus on phase two of the campaign, ‘The Move’. Mr Spoors was kind enough to purchase the aircraft on behalf of the group as well as paying for the transportation of ‘582 to Bruntingthorpe as initially planned. There is an agreement in place that will allow BF4PAG to reimburse Mr Spoors for his generosity over a period of time. This will allow us to ensure the safety of the aircraft and give a greater time period in order to raise the required funds. This is by no means the end and many more months of hard work await us, but at least we are now one more step closer. I would like to take this opportunity to make you all aware that we have a number of structured fund raising projects that will be rolled out in due course. Finally I would like to express my thanks on behalf of The British F4 Phantom Aviation Group, to Gary Spoors and GJD Services for the generosity and assistance.
Sam Thompson General Secretary The British F4 Phantom Aviation

Just the collective cost of fuel and WD40 or similar must have been pretty high

It took seven trips totaling about 30 days to separate the wing, and a another two for the fuselage and wing, about 36 days in total.
Would be interested to hear the ball park figure it cost the UAM to dismantle and move the frame.. I know how much it cost the LPG to move the Lightning, a sum that exceeded 5 figures and they had contacts that allowed that figure to be a lot less than it would have been. If the MoD will not move it, that’s the costs on top of the bidding one.

I saw Black Mike during a quick visit last month. The aircraft is inside one of the HAS close to VAS.
I will be back in about two weeks to help load the wing for XT864.
That has taken some time to dismantle and move. One can see why certain companies were not the slightest bit interested in bidding for the three frames at Leuchars.

The name of the chap responsible for the missing money is remarkably similar to the name of a chap who may, or may not, have fleeced some collectors and museums out of TSR 2 parts around the late ’90s.
