Yes it does look a little odd but it’s only the illustrators perspective The wing has a positive incidence of 5 deg and a stagger of 2.4″. The lever is probably a ‘Blackburn thing’.

The rigging of the fuel tank looks so wrong. The forward struts are too short surely?

It’s certainly easy to see and understand.
It’s also the first time I’ve seen a horizontal lever for that purpose, (as opposed to the pointer/knob type seen on current GA types or a fore-aft lever), is that style common in older UK aircraft?
I don’t recall seeing it in the various Moths (tiger and Puss) I’ve been around., then again, I wasn’t looking for it.

It is the fuel on-off lever. It operates a bowden cable to the fuel valve.

It’s the air show commentator control lever.

If not the fuel, perhaps carb heat?

Surely its the fuel **** leaver, was it not gravity fed?

And is that the air speed indicator at upper left?
… With what appears to be twice round the clock and you’re doing 28 knots???!!!
Love it!
