XL391
I pass XL391 on my way to work every morning and is probably in a worse state since you last saw her, the crew hatch is constantly open so the local wildlife are nesting etc. in her innards, I think the best thing now for her is the scrapmans axe to put her out of her misery

I think that the cocpit section wopuld not be a viable p[roject due to the state that she is in. Completely stripped out inside as well as heavily corroded.. It is a shame I last saw her in 1996 and she looked terrible..

I thought all the “exhibits” at Rhoose had either been scrapped or returned to their original owners?

The best example of how not to look after historic airframes was the laughingly entitled ‘Wales Aircraft Museum’, now defunct, that was up the road here next to Cardiff Airport.
Just a bit of waste ground, not even level, a portacabin, and a few very sad looking rotting airframes.

XL391 – the perfect example of how not to look after an historic aircraft. Sadly the scrapman’s axe is the best thing for her now.:(

Still for sale at £10000! Price of scrap is not good so not currently viable to scrap. No doubt someone will buy the nose section!!!
