Blohm und Voss Ha139 floatplane

An old friend of mine likes to read up on floatplanes.
He is having difficulty finding out much information on the Blohm und Voss Ha139 4-engined floatplane designed and used to be catapulted off a transatlantic ship to speed the mail to it’s destination. First flying in 1937, 3 were built.
The only published source he has been able to find so far is in “Catapult Aircraft” by Lee Marriott.
Can anyone here suggest additional sources ?
Thanks – Roger Smith.

I’ve just noticed that there is an interesting – though expectedly light-weight – article on the Ha139 designer in the May 2017 edition of a US-based bi-monthly aviation history magazine. It does mention the Ha-139 and its land based equivalent in passing.

The best coverage of this aircraft is probably in the 1970’s German language magazine LuftFahrt International, numbers 19 and 20. This covers many external and interior and construction photos as well as drawings for the crane and catapult of the ships installations. Mostly covered in Duggy’s post

It got a 2 page spread in RA Saville-Sneath’s “Aircraft Recognition” published in 1941 and re-issued by Penguin in 1990 and 2006. ISBN-13 978-0-141-03033-3.

I suggest your friend try typing “Blohm”, “Voss”, “Ha139” in some combination into Google and select the “books” option. There doesn’t appear to be any specific book on the Ha139 as only 3 aircraft were produced. However, the google-books search will give a selection of books with the floatplane referenced….and sometimes, if lucky, you can get a preview of the page.

There is a two page section in William Green’s ‘warplanes of the third reich’ on the Ha139
There are also 5 images and a small amount of text in the Crecy ‘Luftwaffe seaplanes’ by Goss and Rauchbach
Also (for what it is worth) an entry in ‘flying boats and seaplanes’ pocket encyclopedia by Kenneth Munson.
All the above from my limited book collection so I would guess there would be other published texts
