I was reading in Flight International that both MiG and another European company (whose name eludes me at the moment) considered upgrading some of the NATO MiG-29 users radar with Blue Vixen.. I’m not too sure about the capabilities of the Blue vixen versus the Zhuk-Me (M) that is used in the later variants of the Fulcrum and was hoping some one could put this in perspective.
The Blue vixen being a multi-mode pulse doppler
But I’m assuming if these MiG-29s get the Blue Vixen..it could be quite possible to see them with Amraam, Alarm, Sea Eagle anti ship missiles, and probably AIM-9L for short range.
