bmi advice – MAN to ABZ.

Couple of queries about this route, any help would be greatly appreciated.

What aircraft do they use? I was assuming ERJ 145?

Whats the business class service like on bmi regional flights? AndrewM I think has used it?

Thanks in advance.

Business Class on the EMB145 will consist of:

1) A gold headrest cover instead of blue, someone might offer to pop your coat in a wardrobe (if the hosties trolley bag isn’t already crammed in it).

2) You might get asked if you’d like a newspaper.

3) Free drinks (but as pointed out, its same throughout both cabins).

4) Cold plated light meal normally on the MAN-ABZ (i.e. Salmon and a few leaves, maybe warm bread roll if the oven is working) or hot brekkie on first morning departures.

5) If your really lucky, we used to come round with boiled sweets for landing too, but think that may have stopped now!

Basically, there’s very little difference between Y class and C class on board the Embraer.

I’m sure you’ll have a great flight anyway!

The bmi fare structure is quite complicated. Business class seems to remain on all Scottish routes? But has gone on the majority of European shorthaul and English domestic routes?

mmm well on their A321s you get a box with bread roll glass for wine, coffe cup and silver cutlery and then a choice of main food depending on time of day. Ive had a lasagne on a night flight and hot breakfast on a morning flight.

Bar is free but on the 1hr service to LHR it comes once but people do order form it by pressing call button once its gone.

Compared to other business products I dont see value of the extra money, at least on the BHD-LHR route.

The best thing IMO is the lounges and its most redeming feature. They are very good and have free food (no meals just snack foods) and free drinks and newspapers etc. Every TV has programmable sky too.

Business class is meant to be pretty good, but its on an ERJ so seats are no different to normal, and considering they still offer a full service down the back anyway I dont see the point.

Unless someone else is paying of course…

Yep, they use their Embraer Jets on this route, can’t help with anything else though.
