Just to confirm, Geneva is to be included in the Baby winter schedule from Teesside, contrary to what I was previously thinking.
As can be seen here:

Make sure you don’t miss out this winter, book online at bmibaby.com or through reservations on 0870 264 2229. The earlier you book, the better the fare and the availability.
And remember, there’s no need to dash for a seat with bmibaby – we let you reserve your seat whilst you’re booking online, or we’ll allocate your seat at check-in. Whichever way, you won’t need to join a scrum to sit where you want. And what’s more, online seat selection is completely free of charge.

Yup… They did it with EMA-BRU, no reason why the rest shouldn’t in the fullness of time. A large number of reglar business passengers that have gone down the road to BHX because they don’t want the huge queues at EMA, they don’t want the hassle of Baby not allowing return same day checkin, they want through checkin and baggage to other destinations, they want to be able to change their tickets without penalty or hassle, they don’t want the crap service Baby provides for what is often no lower a ticket price than BA charge ex BHX if they book at short notice. And they want the frequent flyer miles, the express (gold/silver card) checkin, and the lounges. What BMI did by changinf to Baby at EMA was push the vast majority of high-yield traffic to other airports, BHX especially, leaving Baby with all the lower yielding stuff. Baby is not performing anywhere near as well at EMA as they are at MAN and its the leisure routes that are really holding them up – over time they’ll move more capacity into MAN (and maybe LGW if that works out well) at the expense of EMA. They will pull off more of the business routes – its just a matter of time.

Several work colleagues frequently used BMIbaby on EMA-BRU and paid @£100 most of the time. When flight reverted back to BMIRegional cost went upto £445!!! I suspect they couldn’t fill the 737s but the ERJs are running at near to full capacity.

Jet2 offer return check in, did it when I did my day to trip to Belfast in November. Didnt know other airlines didnt, just shows Jet2 are a cut above with allocated seating and return check in 😀

LoCos don’t usually do same day return checkin because once they’ve checked you in they have an obligation to do something if things go wrong… If they make you wait until the evening to checkin, if they find they have to cancel the flight for any reason (which recently Baby has not been averse to doing!) then they don’t have any obligations – they can just send the passengers away and tell them to come back tomorrow.

they don’t want the hassle of Baby not allowing return same day checkin,
I didn’t realise they don’t offer that! I thought all airlines did.
Flybe do, a rival Loco I suppose.

Manchester bmibaby flights available to book today. Following routes for Winter 2004/2005:
Alicante – 5x weekly
Belfast International – 4x Daily
Cork – Daily
Jersey – 5x weekly
Knock – Daily
Malaga – 5x weekly
Murcia – 1x weekly (Saturday)
Palma – 5x weekly
Prague – 2x Daily
Doesn’t look like the Paris, Bordeaux and Barcelona routes are being continued. Ibiza will also end for the winter season. Good to see Belfast and Prague are doing well.

Teesside’s timetable is just about visible on the website and the routes are the same as the summer with flights to Malaga, Palma, Alicante, Prague and Belfast.
The Belfast flight has not been cancelled and reduces to 6 x a week whilst the summer flights to Nice and Jersey have been dropped for the winter. Interestingly, the Geneva flight doesn’t look to be returning this winter.
Still, at least we’re keeping the based aircraft for the winter.
As an aside, IT flights for MME this winter appear to have been reduced to two; 1 x Alicante (BY – Tues) and 1 x Tenerife (JKK/AEA – Fri). Ad-hoc IT flights will operate to other destinations through January.

Shame FR haven’t battered them off the DUB route actually… What we need at NEMA is for Baby to foxtrot oscar as far as the business routes are concerned, leave the low-fare market to FR and Easy, and for Regional to come back with the JungleJets on routes like GLA, EDI, DUB, BFS, AMS, CDG.
