Hi Guys
I was wondering what the BMI in flight service is like for a domestic route LHR – ABZ, I’ve flown with them but it was years ago now, when they were called BRitish Midland…
And I’m going with the one cos BA are too expensive and haven’t released any Exec Club miles… the buggers
Cheers
Sam

Peak flights on MAN-EDI are usually always the 145. The 135’s used to be used on the MAN-GLA and LBA-EDI sometimes but I’ve not seem them on MAN-EDI for a while. You might get the 135 if your travelling mid-week on an off-peak service though.

It was Walkers shortbread, yes, but it hardly filled me up. More bickies please! If thats the best we can expect, a biscuit, at least give us a couple of packs!

I think bmi are great and have flown with them a few times now:
LHR-GLA-LHR
LHR-GLA-LHR (would have been EDI, but that was a little too expensive)
We got a hot bacon and cheese panini first time around and sandwiches/baguettes every time, washed down with a free drink, whether it be a hot one, soft or alcoholic.
Compared to some other full-service airlines, bmi is certainly very cheap.

Truth is if bmi could fit the A330 into Belfast it would be on at least the early morning flights as they red eye departing at i think 0640 is the most popular flight in Northern Ireland and thats offical!
I give you that one andrewm, totally agree there. I’m so surprised there isn’t more competition on that route as its SOOO popular! As you say, the peak commuting flights are absolute nightmare and sometimes were overbooked by upto 40 pax!

Thanks for saying that LBA 😀
If a flight is getting full, its very doubtful bmi would put an additional aircraft on the same route just for capacity. In fact, i’ve never known that in all my years with them. I would think its quite uncommon on a Regional route especially. It has been done out of LHR however.
When the 321s were banned from EGAC by the CAA while a MCDU problem was fixed for short runways bmi used an A320 and where demand was needed a Fokker 100 was used along side with same flight dep/arr etc.

Good luck to you if you get the EMB135… how scarey is it taxiing around LHR in a tiny EMB135 when your surrounded by 747’s and 777’s everywhere!!! 😮
