Hello everybody.
I was delighted to see that bmi have decided to add one additonal daily flight to there LHR-DUB route.
At the moment there is quite a gap between BD123/124 and BD127/128 about 5-6 hours so they have added BD125/126.
BD125 departs LHR at 1115 arriving into DUB at 1235.
BD126 departs DUB at 1315 arriving into LHR at 1430.
I know alot of people complained about the big gap but now its filled. Great news for BD and DUB with all the talk of BD dropping certain regional routes from LHR.

Its hardly a pathetic use of a slot when you consider that DUB is one of their most profitable routes!
There was a big gap in their schedules which is now filled.
When bmi do eventually get around to building a decent long haul schedule from LHR they are going to need a decent amount of feeder flights. Regular flights on their most important routes are what are needed.
I dont think bmi would do to well if they relied soley on O&D traffic for long haul LHR ops.

For the last goodness-knows-how-many years bmi have been talking about expansion, the unfairness of Bermuda 2, and effortless campaigning to get access rights to LHR.
The climbdown seen in recent weeks after open skies becomes more and more of a reality is quite sad. With no disrespect to DUB, this is quite frankly a pathetic use of slots compared to what they should be angling for.
I simply don’t buy the excuses being made about LHR disruption, and assume we’ll see a fair bit of scrabbling around increasing frequencies on various routes that were otherwise for the chop.
Even sadder in actual fact is the exciting expansion with the additional A330s coming online. Extra frequencies on MAN-ORD.
Whoopy-do! Although useful for me personally, and beneficial to MAN, it’s hardly what was expected after all that effort…
