BMI Long haul

Hi

I’ve booked a flight with BMI to Riyadh. The price with saudi airlines was £900 on economy, i got it for £400. And I’ve never been on a 767 before.
I have travelled on BMI once from London to Edinburg but never on a long haul.
Is it a no frills airline on long routes? what sort of service should i expect . any ideas?

The whispers have misheard, not ever looked at. It all arose from a classic case of people adding 2+2 and getting 5 when a staff member visited Colombo on company business.

Well whatever happens its common knowledge that bmi’s l/h future does not include MAN which is a real shame

Can anyone provide a list of current bmi longhaul destinations and a/c used?

Current disposition of the long haul bmi fleet is:

A330-1: LHR-BOM (daily)
A330-2: MAN-ORD (daily)
A330-3: MAN-LAS/MAN-ANU/MAN-BGI
7673-1: LHR-RUH/LHR-JED

bmi have recently commented that they see an opportunity for LHR-Damman (KSA) on a narrow body – maybe they’re thinking about something like the Air France Dedicate operation on one of their A319/A320s?

Andy

PS: I used to be one of bmi long haul’s biggest fans, and have flown on them MANY times. However, a combination of them dropping MAN-IAD (which was my preferred route into the US), the downgrading of cabin service in the back cabin, and even before they started charging a suggestion on at least a couple of occasions that Y-class passengers could only have two “free” beverages meant I dumped them like the proverbial hot-cakes. Now that I am entitled to travel business class long haul, that’s bmi’s loss because no way will I go back to them

Hip hip hooray so well be left with one A330 and thats it? Id imagine VS taking over the caribbean and vegas routes, which will be nice to see, however its such a shame BMI had great potential!

Bring thos A330’s back to MAN 😡

We have two from three so it aint that bad, but there are whispers that bmi are to start Colobmo from LHR, with the Leisure routes leaving MAN, and one of our 330’s heading down south. Just whipers at the moment tho!

BMI have a very nice economy product on the A330, nice seats, reasonable legroom, seat back tv’s and the nose and belly cameras are great!

Obviously I cant comment on the B767 product.

Bring thos A330’s back to MAN 😡

35 inches in economy, is that right? Thats loads of legroom, the A330’s have 32inch pitch.

For the 767 yes it seems, as Premium Econ has been taken out

There is no fixed base for the A330 as they swap around, with WWBD on LHR-Mumbai runs atm, WWBM and WWBB at MAN swapping between ORD and the Leisure routes 🙂

Can I just add to that and ask what the current bmi long haul situation is, ie which a/c are based where and which routes they operate?

You will recieve a leased 767 PH-MCV from ArkeFly

It will be a 35inch config in economy, and you will have no personal TV screens, only screens thru the cabin. but you will recieve as always a meal and a snack, which in mt experience is very tasty!

A330’s are more comfortable, and the plan is for them to find an A330 in the future to carry on the route!

Hope that helps 🙂
