Alot of these routes were dropped by BA,also the routes which BA still operate(Belfast)probably will go.Jersey is the strange one,its subject to approval by the JTA and only if they can get a deal on landing fees(hah)

RE: bmibaby CWL routes announced
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 29-07-02 AT 02:35 PM (GMT)]easyJet are not considering leaving Luton for Stansted. They are planning to move there call centre and offices at Luton (“easyLand”) but at the moment have not decided where to go. By the size of combined operations I would say easyJet would be looking for a very large building. There is a tower block of brand new offices on the last roundabout before u hit STN terminal for sale which would suit easyJet perfectall. The offices are still in the airport grounds!

RE: bmibaby CWL routes announced
It’s good for the south wales community, alot of people travel to Bristol (My native city) to get the GO (now easyjet) flight’s to the likes of Spain, at least people from that region have a good choice of cities and holiday destinations now. This country need’s more of the low cost airlines, give people more choice.
Thank’s for reporting this.

RE: bmibaby CWL routes announced
This could be a well needed boost for Jersey’s tourism industry and airport. At the moment the airport is loosing millions and so the entry of a low cost carrier in to the airport could help gain some much needed money.I should think Jersey will do well for the airline if a licence is granted.
I think that it is pretty certain that BA would drop the CWL-BHD and JER routes.I know they have been thinking about getting rid of the route for a while now and so bmibaby would just be the thing needed for BA to pack in the route.
I think the fact bmibaby has moved in to CWL has unfortunately delt a blow to Air Wales who were thing of expanding on to the EDI/GLA routes because they could not compete with bmibaby.
Hopefully this could see the expansion of low cost airlines at JER. Still a bit annoyed that we here in GCI ain’t getting any low cost carriers 🙁

RE: bmibaby CWL routes announced
We are hopeful for a Liverpool – Alicante route starting up with Easyjet, I notice they have announced the launched of a LGW-ALC, so I think its likely to follow on. BMI baby to Jersey is interesting as Easyjet made noizes about this a few years back. I think if BMI baby gets whats they want, Easyjet may look at the routes to Jersey again, who knows ??! We could certainly do with a better LPL-JER service.

RE: bmibaby CWL routes announced
Do you think Easyjet will relocate to Gatwick? – I know they were considering leaving Luton for Stansted. But LGW is the bees knees by comparison, esp. with all the slots thrown away by BA.

RE: bmibaby CWL routes announced
I Know this isn’t really associated with bmibaby at Cardiff but easyJet have also announced new routes today. As of September 4th, easyJet will operate daily services to Madrid and Alicante. Alicante is a new destination for easyJet. This brings the number of easyJet destinations at Gatwick to 11 !!!

RE: bmibaby CWL routes announced
Great news for Cardiff.
I’m very jealous of course, would love something scheduled and cheap around here.
