bmibaby to start East Midlands to Knock!

bmibaby is launching another new route this summer from Nottingham East Midlands Airport (NEMA) to Knock (Connaught), in the West of Ireland.

The new service starts on 30 April and goes on sale at 10am today (Wednesday 10th March 2004) with a special introductory Internet offer fare of just £13.95 one way, including all taxes and charges. The new route extends the airline’s southern Irish offering from the Midlands to three – Cork, Dublin and Knock. bmibaby also flies regular daily domestic services between Nottingham EMA and Belfast (International).

David Bryon, commercial director, bmibaby, commented:
“We’re delighted to be able to extend the range of Irish routes we serve from our biggest UK base in the Midlands. We believe that Knock will complement our existing offering and provide two or three centre breaks in the beautiful setting of West Ireland. We’re also confident that the route will be well used by the business community in the UK and Ireland. We’re offering extremely competitive fares on the route – the cheapest in the Midlands in fact!”

bmibaby will offer daily departures with regular internet fares starting from just £15.95 one way, including all taxes and charges. The bmibaby introductory offer fare of just £13.95 one way, including all taxes and charges, is available on all flights for travel throughout May, with over 1,000 seats available at the offer fare.

The introduction of services to Knock brings the total number of bmibaby destinations available this summer from Nottingham East Midlands Airport to 20: Alicante, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Belfast (International), Bordeaux, Cork, Dublin, Edinburgh, Faro, Glasgow (International), Ibiza, Jersey, Knock, Malaga, Murcia, Nice, Palma, Paris (Charles de Gaulle), Prague and Toulouse.

Seems like the route will do well – especially due to the huge success of the MyTravel Lite route between nearby Birmingham and Knock.
