Hi all,
I was told by a german company today that they recently restored a BMW VI engine to airworthy condition for a client in New Zealand. Does anybody have a clue for which project this engine might be needed?
Thanks
Peter

be nice if you could get her to old warden one day!!
That would be a dream! I can just see her flying alongside the Hind!
I am indeed part of a team that is currently working on a flying replica of the 1930’s He 51 biplane. Check this out:

Those who might want to see a detailed account go to www.Luftarchiv.de you will need to register. Then go to the forum and then to “Modellbau, Nachbauten, Flugzeug-Profiles” and then to “Heinkel He 51 Nachbau”. It is in german but it is chock full with pictures.
I look forward to seeing you all there.

Maybe he doesn’t have much confidence in the maintenance of the railway trackwork 😀

Maybe it’s not for an aircraft….
Hard to say if it’s for a “Schienenzeppelin” i.e. Railway-Zeppelin. If it were then would it have been refurbished to running condition instead of airworthy condition? The gentleman I spoke to yesterday said the engine “…will fly again!”

Been looking browsing a bit for aircraft owned by Jackson and came up with this (for now):
Bristol F.2 Fighter
From wikipedia:
“New Zealand film director Peter Jackson owns D-8040”
Sopwith Camel
From: http://www.kiwiaircraftimages.com/sho01oma.html
“Director (and Camel owner) Peter Jackson was on the commentary stand”
I think both are airworthy and Jackson might also own a number of static display aircraft.

1930s Luftwaffe biplanes which I believe aren’t exactly up Jackson’s alley. I thought he was more into WWI aviation.
Peter
Jackson is very much into WWI aviation, perhaps even more than WWII.
He is deeply involved in this museum:
