Not for long… the last revenue flights for the standard VC10’s was about 1974… and BOAC merged with BEA in 1974 to become BA….I think the Super VC10″s were withdrawn from service about 81
Yip, t’was early 80’s for the retirement of the Supers, here’s a shot of former BA examples awaiting their fate, taken in 1984.
Some of them and the standard VC-10’s survive today as RAF fleet.

MEGA
BMA 1-11…..had my first flight on one of those in 1969. Those were the days. The old fella tells me it was £24 19 shillings and 11 pence each for 14 nights full board in Callela on the Costa Dorada.
Try telling that to the kids of today……they won’t believe you.
Thanks for posting great memories

Vc10 and the 707 both the best looking in my opinion. Infact passengers with BOAC and BA preffered the VC-10!!

The 707-320 has to be the best looking subsonic jetliner of all time
I couldn’t agree more……very sleek….unlike many of today’s widebody designs…..
How could you compare it to the sleek majestic lines of the Super VC10??
