His Spitfire has been selected by “Corgi” to produce in a large 1/32 scale die-cast model for the 70th anniversary of the Battle Of Britain. A small, but fitting honour.
As Robbo said, in his interviews he always seems modest and unassuming.
Rest In Peace Sir.

I’m very very sad to hear the news of his passing, he was a hero of mine. I could sit and listen to him for hours, and when I get home tonight I will pull out every recording I have of him and do just that, listen for hours.
God Bless Bob Doe, his comrades, and his family. Condolences to all who knew and loved him. He will be greatly missed. Rest in peace Sir, and thank you for all you did for your country and its allies.

A lovely man and a true hero, may he be reunited with friends past.

He always sounded very humble on interviews, and didn’t mind admitting his own faults and weaknesses, which made his obvious courage even more noteworthy. I’m truly sorry to hear of his passing.

The Few are sadly getting ever fewer……:(
Bob Doe had been the last surviving (by a number of years) of the top scoring, dozen or so RAF BofB pilots, and in fact the last of both the RAF and Luftwaffe top dozen or so scorers.

Sad to hear that another of thsoe to whom the free world owes so much has left us.
As has already been said he came across as a true , very modest gentleman on the various TV interviews that i have seen.
May he rest in peace.

I’m very sorry to hear that. Tragic to think The Few will soon only live in memories, history books and tv + radio interviews. RIP Wng Commander Doe
