Just found some good clips from the Battle of Britain film, or maybe outtake sequences, being used on the HistoryChannel website here:
http://www.spitfire.thehistorychannel.co.uk/site/interactive/video.php
This is part of their site on the Spitfire and the Battle which I found via the Biggin Hill Air Fair site: http://www.bigginhillairfair.co.uk
Cheers,
Mark

I’ve still got it on Sky+ so can put it on DVD for you if you like – it’s very well done

Record request.
May I ask if anybody did, or is going to, commit this to DVD from the broadcast?
I am very keen to analyse the ‘freeze frames’ but do not receive the channel.

[QUOTE=Moggy C]I see there’s a three-parter on the Battle coming up on the History Channel. Criticised for passing off BoB movie clips and outakes as documentary film.
Hi Moggy, just a quick post to put the record straight.
The History Channel has not tried to pass off the Battle of Britain film clips as original Battle of Britain action. At the start of the programme they clearly state the source of the colour footage, Guy Hamilton the films director even gets a credit at the end.
IMHO, well worth a look, great footage, complimented by surviving pilots first hand accounts.
Some great never before shown footage appeared in the first programme;
On board Casa 2111 (He 111) take off, Rear seat view from the two seater Buchon and a rather nice shots of one of the BBMF PR XIX’s in film markings.

This coming week, but I can’t recall what day. Not important to me as I can’t view it anyway.
