Hi all
Long time reader but only recently joined the forum.
I have recently acquired some bits from a Spitfire MkI that crashed during the BoB and would be really interested to know what they are. If anyone could help ID I would be really grateful.
The first is a bracket that has traces of bluey green paint on it. It has the numbers 30036 1029 H97S , then there is a circle below it with what looks like a date with a 6 over 11 and another digit(s) that are unreadable. It is approx 4 inches long.
The second bit appears to be some kind of switch, it has the numbers SHT200 one side and one the other it has what appears to be a 3 followed by 0008 and underneath this the numbers 4787. In the top corner it has a small circle with what looks like 8S and ‘No 5’ below it. It then has the number 87 stamped below this again. This has a cream and a blue paint on the rear of it and would be about 2 inches by 2 inches.
There are loads of other bits mostly twisted scrap and large mechanical bits, which I will picture if anyone fancies a challenge!!
Thanks in advance
Steve
