Did Bob Stanford-Tuck change his name?
I seem to remember reading that he changed it to avoid ****-taking (I mean mickey-taking :o) because his name rhymed with something…
…so βTuckβ rhymes with….?
So what did he change? Or did he add something…..’Stanford’?

Presumably a reply to Paddy Barthropp, the reference to Betty would seem to confirm this. No idea who the ‘little creep’ was however! Anyone care to venture a guess? π
( Wing Commander Paddy Barthropp, DFC, AFC, wartime fighter pilot, born on November 9, 1920. He died on April 16, 2008, aged 87 (His marriage in 1948 to Barbara Pal was dissolved. He is survived by his second wife, Betty, whom he married in 1962.) From an obit in the ‘Times’.2 May 2008.

Yes, I would say pretty typical for the era…..1984…
…although I donβt think the more abbreviated ****wit came into common use until the early 1990s. :diablo:

He is talking about his supposed “son”.
I have letters from him in similar vein, written to me personally. I mentioned this in NewGuys thread about Tuck.
Some interesting paperwork you have there, foxnorris. Any more to share?

It’s a shame I can’t display the letters with the profane language
