BOBMF Lanc due out to Holland today , 3 October

The Lanc has a flypast planned for today in Holland to honour a 61 Squadron Lancaster crew from RAF Syerston who were shot down in 1942 .
I’ve looked on both the official Facebook and Twitter pages but nothing has been posted yet . Does anyone know times or routing please ?

Some details here ;
BBMF Lancaster flypast arranged to mark the raising of 61 Sqn Lancaster from Dutch lake
The BBMF Lancaster has a flypast planned on 3 October to honour the crew of Lancaster R5682 of 61 Sqn, shot down in the Friesland area of the Netherlands en route to Bremen in Germany on 4/5 September, 1942, with a crew of four British and three Canadians.
The aircraft, which took off from RAF Syerston, had been hit by flak near the Dutch coast and was then finished off by a night-fighter. Four of the crew were taken prisoner of war, two who did not survive were buried in the Netherlands, but the tail-gunner, Flt Sgt James Cooper RCAF, was missing in action. Maybe that mystery will be solved.
Leemans Speciaalwerken have been running the project – see http://www.lincolnshirelive.co.uk/news/ … gun-489512 for more on the progress.

Except only PS915 has flown this year as the other has been in storage for over a year or more now

All of BBMF aircraft must be way down on hours for this season apart from the Griffon engine Spits?

Just to add to this, PA474 returned next day after a night stop. And today did her last three flights of the year. Also up with 474 at one point was Parky in P7350 on his last flight with the BBMF prior to retirement it seems..

i some way it is fitting that the remains were found as this tribute took place with 474 in attendance, make you wonder.

Not wanting to spoil the moment, but the announcemeny says that remains have been unearthed over the past few days, not just today. A good result nevertheless.

Something wrong with that link, Eric. Try this one: http://www.lc.nl/friesland/Menselijke-resten-gevonden-tijdens-berging-vliegtuigwrak-Warten-video-22546658.html

No sign of the F-16s or Spitfire in that video but well done to the BBMF!

And it is good to hear that the recovery has produced a result. Hopefully this will lead to a fitting final resting place for the missing crewmember.

And as a fitting but sobering reminder, this afternoon it was announced that human remains and personal items have been found during the recovery operation.

I flew over in 2005 in it, and PA474 has been over to the Netherlands most years since.
Normal route is via the Channel, to minimise time over water.

I went on up to the 12th floor to see if I could catch a glimpse, but it must have passed too far east at too low an altitude. Or perhaps I was too late, the FR24 feed seems to pause every now and then, before jumping ahead again.

Signed: disappointed from Amsterdam

The Dutch F-16 was one of a pair and seemed to be heading to Marham ?
Sadly the Lanc seems to have disappeared off the radar altogether so perhaps I may need glasses !

Don’t think she shows on FR24 ? Was on ADS-B as PA474 but has disappeared now , perhaps too low or no ‘volunteer’ VR/SBS covarage in that area ?
