Boeing 707

This is another one of my oldies I have to comment on. I love this aircraft. It is in my opinion one of the best looking airliners ever. It has been so useful, especially to the military. The KC-135, RC-135, E-3, etc. are all successful military versions. In fact, the KC-135 was supposed to be replaced by the KC-10 and it never happened. I just think this aircraft is great. What are your opinions of it?

I also saw this 707 at Lisbon last year and it made me think, ‘I wonder if TAP actually know this was one of theirs’? They have preserved a DC-3 in TAP colours, so perhaps they might take on the 707 also  Here’s a shot I took of it from the window as we taxied in.

It’s been stored at Lisbon since June 1996 and is registered 9T-MSS. Former ID was CS-TBD with TAP, in which guise it was a regular sight around Europe for many years. Its hopes of flying again must be slim-to-none, especially as it is a pax-only version.
