Boeing 737-200

I have three questions that are sort of related to the 732.

1. Does anyone have any idea where I can find the photo’s that were on here of a Ryanair 732 that was being reduced to spares?

2. Does anyone have any idea whether Airfix or Revell made a 1/144th scale kit of the 732? I know Revell do one in 1/200th scale but that’s a wee bit small.

3. Are there any after market decals in 1/144th scale for Ryanair?

As you have probably guessed I fancy building a 732, but with a bit of a difference.

Any help appreciated.

Hi,

Airfix did a kit of a 737-200 in 1:144 scale – I used to have this one a few years ago. The model comes with British Airways (Old c/s) and Air France decals. Not a bad model for an Airfix one either – more detailed than the others in the range which include a dreadful 747-100 in the same scale.

I still own some of the Airfix models that were brought out in the same line including an A300B4 and DC-10. I also own an Airfix BAC 1-11-200 in the same scale which isn’t a bad one. I’m pretty sure that the 737 model is still being sold in some places – Though it dates back to the 1980’s when they brought it out under the ‘Modern Airliners’ range. They repackaged the airliners in different boxes with differnt artwork later on. The only Revell model I own is a KLM 767-300 so I can’t be sure if they ever did a 732.

Hope this helps.

Jim.

You either have a fantastic memory or you’re quick at googling.

Neither – I remembered the catalogue number of the Air France B737 because it was the last 5 numbers of my parent’s telephone number at the time.
Revell did a BA B737-200, but I’ve no idea of the catalogue number of that one. 😀

You may find this site useful, too. 🙂

I have seen a Revell 1/144 scale B737-800. It might be possible to use a 1/144 732 kit and add the 1/144 738 decals.

You are right.

You either have a fantastic memory or you’re quick at googling.

Now, how about the other two questions? 😉

I’m sure Airfix used to do a 1:144 scale B737-200 in Air France livery.

AIR-03181 was the catalogue number, if I recall correctly.
