What was the original maiden flight due date?

I remember Boeing doing sarcastic comments when Airbus announced some delays in the A380 test flights.
Some should learn humility ….
Lets see some links to such comments please.
All I remember is Boeing giving Airbus a pat on the back and a well done for the A380.

Yes, I remember them too:

Without question the A380 is a great engineering and industrial achievement. We congratulate Airbus on reaching this significant milestone. The people who designed it and put it together should be proud.

But regardless of our differences in philosophies, there’s no doubt that a tip of the hat is in order to Airbus on this milestone. We also salute Singapore Airlines, a great customer of ours and a leader in commercial aviation. Congratulations on a big delivery.
Seriously though, I’d be interested to see the comments you infer, because I dont recall seeing such in public at least. 🙂

On September 15th – and lets not forget that’s only three weeks ago – Boeing’s 748 program manager said that the first one would fly in the Fall 09 and indeed he aimed to have THREE 748s in the air by year end:

Now – none! How things change in three weeks.
I’m forced to conclude that the planning monkies at Boeing haven’t got a clue! Boeing seems determined not to fly any new designs this year!
Andy
The truly amazing thing is that they still haven’t learned anything from the ridicule in the press, & the reasoned criticism from airlines, over the 787 first flight date recurring fiasco. Each time, they say “This time it’s real” – and then prove that they’re either lying, or have no idea what’s going on where the aircraft are actually being put together. Either way, it shows something is seriously wrong inside Boeing at the moment.

I agree.
This is an unfortunate rut that Boeing have gotten into.
The entire western world is in a rut just now, I’m sure it’ll all come good again once the big corporates learn to install glass floors…;)
Hmmm… maybe not on the airliners though !

Here’s a couple of shots of the 747-8 line I took last week.

That is the due date before the last delays.
But does someone remember the maiden flight due date before first delays?
No idea, I thought it was more or less 3rd or 4th quarter 2009, from memory…

First flight had previously been scheduled for the fourth quarter of this year, and first delivery for the third quarter of 2010.
