Boeing 757-200ERX

Boeing is now offering a new variant of it’s sleek 757 series, the -200ERX. This new model has extra fuel tanks and a stronger body and this results in an extra 700nm added onto the original -200’s range of 4,000nm.

I think this aircraft has potential, routes such as ORD-AMS are now possible for this new type. I think this aircraft will open up new transatlantic routes that would otherwise have been unprofitable for larger types such as the 767-300 and A330.

Does anyone else think this aircraft is a good idea?

Nepal has a fleet of 2 B757s and has also recently leased a B767 from Lauda. Althou i am not a liker of the 757, i think it is a good aircraft for small countries as Keltic said. Jet Airways plans to go international with B757s(see this months Airliner World page 23)

RE: Boeing 757-200ERX

Well maybe good for local/regional airports eager of longhaul flights. The main problemn is that main hubs concentrate this flights and the B757 offers more seats and dropping the fares.
Besides the people, don´t like flying on single aisle planes.
It would be good for small countries with not many passengers for long haul like Malta, Nepal, Iceland but with communities living outside. The plane has to be profitable with good cost per seat percentage. It´s perfect for charter airlines to open new long haul destinations.
