yeah i guess it did kinda sound like my post was putting across that it was for QF’s benefit but then again Boeing are well know in Australia with i thinks its head office in Brisbane im not sure where it is but it does have like a 15 storey building in Brisbane City.

This thread reminded me of that rumor that Air New Zealand was looking at 773ER or A346. This is just speculation b/c NZ is in that general area.

Just a thought- ACA345

comes across as an assumption of it being for qantas’ benefit…

actually got an email from boeing australia today, it explains the details of the flight and its destination and approximate arrival date.

very good of them to finally reply

it’s actually not for qantas’ benefit, its doing some testing for GE and boeing, has nothing to do with QF at all.

its doing joburg-perth-sydney-auckland then some other routes

Personally I think its a waste of time for them bringing the aircraft to Australia, because Qantas has never expressed any actuall interest in the B777 program. I would be very surprised if Qantas started discussing about the B777 even to put an order in.

Not sure of its schedual but i know you can catch a couple aircraft in the territories up north for cold weather testing, its a short cheap flight from YYC and i’d like to see the new aircraft one day!
