Boeing likely to speed development of 7E7 stretch

From ATWonline.com

Insiders at Boeing have told ATWOnline it is highly likely that the stretched 7E7-9, originally slated for 2012 delivery, will be brought forward by two years. According to the sources, entry into service will be May 2010. Key airlines such as Qatar, Emirates and British Airways and the emergence of the A350 are believed to be driving the delivery date change. Qatar is believed to be close to placing an order for up to 60 7E7-9s (ATWOnline, Nov. 9) and would be the launch customer. Another early 7E7 customer, Air New Zealand, also favors the 7E7-9.–Geoffrey Thomas

So, it would seem BA may indeed be interested 😀

Similar specs, then, I’m assuming? Twin engine as well?

Basically a modified A330

What’s the deal with the A350?

In short:

Airbus’ feverish attempt to counter the 7E7

753 and elegant in the same sentence?

Some mistake, surely?

Some say the same about Airbus 😉

BA have expressed an “interest” in the A380, the 7E7 and the “Airbus rival to the 7E7” on several occassions, the latter two as a replacement for the 767 fleet. I doubt we shall see a decision for quite a while as BA is loathe to invest large sums of money at the moment due to its debt mountain.
