And they also could have fown in the GE testbed out of VCV

Perhaps they chose the RR because it was the launch customer’s engine choice !

It would seem the significance of that 742 eludes you. It is the Rolls Royce test bed and is currently carrying the test engine for the Trent 1000, the engine the 787 will be powered by.

Not at all, and I’d understand it being on display too, but it doens’t really depict the typical “commercial” 747. And they also could have fown in the GE testbed out of VCV, then.

Same thing about the 707: I’m sure Travolta’s plane would have looked better than the Omega air one.

Note I’m only talking about PR here.

And if they had found a 747 with 4 similar engines…

Ok… it is more accurately described as a line up of the 7 series of Boeing Commercial Jets…..

Wot? No Boeing 720??? 😎

Ok… it is more accurately described as a line up of the 7 series of Boeing Commercial Jets.

Still, its the first time there has ever been a line up of them like this. An impressive sight, considering the age of the 707.

Its the first time in history that the entire Boeing commercial family has been lined up in one place at the same time

Huh? Maybe you aren’t aware Boeing built such fine airplanes as the 307 Stratoliner or the 377 Stratocruiser??? :dev2:

Seriously, if they could have gotten rid of the McDonnell Douglas orphan (aka MD-95) – or at least hidden it at the back – and put a 720 in its place, it MIGHT have been a nice line-up of all the Boeing commercial JETS.

Do you think so?? it looks a pretty ordinary picture to me

Its the first time in history that the entire Boeing commercial family has been lined up in one place at the same time.

Previously you got one or two of the different products, but not all of them together at once.
That is why I beleive it would easily be a pic of the day shot.

He was probably reffering to the historical significance (as it depicts the parade of the seven series) rather then the quality of the picture

What’s that McDonnell Douglas MD-95 doing in there with all those Boeing? :diablo:

Should be a most impressive sight indeed. Hopefully there will be video posted somewhere.

I am very busy today as a lot of our partners are here so a lot of corporate PR and boeing has opened the doors for all of us quite nicely but what i will definately be attending would be the main event !!
