Boeing Co. is raising aircraft prices by about 5.2 percent, the first increase in two years, and dropping the short-haul version of the 787 Dreamliner.
Higher costs for wages, goods and services are driving the boost, said Jim Proulx, a spokesman at Boeingโs commercial headquarters in Seattle. He confirmed the changes made to the price list on Chicago-based Boeingโs website today as well as the withdrawal of the 787-3 variant…

Hard to say, I’ve seen one source state 30.

Nope.
The 787-8 is the launch model and many have been built, some for flight testing the others stored awaiting certification.
When you say ‘many have been built’ do you have any idea of numbers?

Now, there’s a question…
If you look through the many threads on the subject here and watch the news you’ll see that it is difficult right now to give a definite answer. The B787 programme is already two years late and all test flying is suspended pending the outcome of investigations into a fire on one of the test aircraft.

When is the 787 due in service ?

I suspect that Boeing has its hands full with the B787 programme right now without having to worry too much about a B797.
Besides which, the B747-8 is as large an aircraft as Boeing wishes to build, isn’t it?

Speaking of 797, here is something I drew up to illustrate what I think it will look like, just a miniature 787

That picture of the proposed 797 made me laugh…what an ugly looking aircraft!
By: tommyinyork - 22nd December 2010 at 22:24
Or a 737-1000 or 777-400 ?

Good guess Tommy. know something we don’t know? ๐
Actually the answer is no. ๐

Is there any plans for a 797 ?
