Yeah, thats right, for my unit 5 English language exam, which is editorial writing, we get given two set pieces of a collection of texts about two topics. My choices are either set 1: Jane Austen or set 2: Bolton Wanderers … now seeing as this is an English exam you would think that Jane Austen would be the right choice, except, it is really quite a hard topic to get your head around, but the Bolton choice seems to be quite unfairly ostentatious to male candidates … :(. I really hope I get a good question about Jane Austen, it would be such a great thing to write about. The only problem is that the exam will want me to re-produce all of the information I have read (and the data from them I have selected) and to re-write it in my own format with my own choice of lexis into either a textbook, magazine article, radio script, tape script or tourist leaflet.

I shouldn’t take the exam because you’ve failed already.
Whilst Bolton Wonderers may well be appropriate considering their current league position, I think you will find that the exam will be about Bolton Wanderers.
