A lot of WWII memorabilia on sales but these seem to be the crackers
A Royal Airforce side-cap worn by Sir Arthur “Bomber” Harris and a Dam Busters dinner menu signed by the crew are being sold off at a WWII auction.
These (the crews) signatures were collected by Flight Lieutenant Richard Algernon Dacre Trevor-Roper, who was awarded the Distinguished Flying Medal (DFM) on the 23 December, 1942, and the Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC) on the 28 May, 1943, for the Dam Buster raid on which he was Guy Gibson’s tail gunner
Just looked at the auctioneer’s website and the sale is happening right now (12th April 2005 12 noon – it must be just before 3pm in England as I type this.) The URL to the Bonhams sale is http://www.bonhams.com/cgi-bin/public.sh/pubweb/publicSite.r?sContinent=EUR&screen=Catalogue&iSaleNo=11677&iEventNo=28605
