Here is another of a Photo Flight we did into Austin with the 262 and 2 Mustangs. Raw sound on this one, actually came out quite good considering the Db level.

Well…the GoPro strikes again. Here is a compilation video of the 2013 season. The second video was some of the first footage shot from the Mustang of the 262. Its a neat formation on our way somewhere in Texas. The second half was shot during my flight in the 262. Flies great BTW 🙂 First vid “sing sing sing”..its meant as a promo vid…second vid…no music…just engine sounds

T.P. off the boil
Tom Petty it is…and the music does fit “our life”…but alas…can’t please everyone…..
Well Jim – I hope you & the other lads on this thread can have a good laugh at my expense………… you see……..
I’ll bet that I’m (probably) the only guy on the forum who went out & bought (as a teenager) Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers first two successful U.K. albums (upon their release)….”You’re Gonna Get It” & ” Damn The Torpedo’s”
(which I still posess, on Vinyl & supplemented, latterday, on C.D).
Drew the rear cover (Gibson Flying Vee, thru’ a heart) on a Valentine card to the Girl that became my wife (& subsequent Mother of my Sprogs !)…….
Bought tickets to see T.P. Mike Campbell, Stan Lynch & Benmont Tench etc
at the legendary Hammersmith Odeon for the “Damn The Torpedo’s” tour & basically fell in love with that album as an early U.K. fan.
Even LOVED the stuff he done when collaborating with Jeff Lynne (Post-Travelling Wilbury’s; IIRC) such as “Into The Great Wide Open” etc…..
BUT, hearing that Cack – well, so it seems he’s long past his sell by date.
I’ll remember him for the influence (on my guitar playing) of SUPERB tracks like my favourite – 😎 “Shadow of a Doubt”:cool: & the likes of “Century City”, “Refugee”, “Magnolia” (& the earlier) “American Girl” when he & the band were on fire & bringing out decent music:cool: .
T.P. = R.I.P.

To a real aviation enthusiast, the only accompaniment needed is the music from the engines.

Tom Petty it is…and the music does fit “our life”…but alas…can’t please everyone…thanks to those that like it, I have more in the works, and I am up for suggestions for background music as well…I have hours of video that I can produce!! Thanks again.
Jim Harley
PS…what they sound like from the outside is nothing what they sound like from the inside. They sound like hail raining down on a metal roof…hence the new audio tracks.

Well spotted cdp, it’s Tom Petty’s Saving Grace, the opening couple of verses being very appropriate to the video subject;
I’m passing sleeping cities
Fading by degrees
Not believing all I see to be soI’m flyin’ over backyards
Country homes and ranches
Watching life between the branches belowAnd it’s hard to say
Who you are these days
But you run on anyway
Don’t you baby? You keep running for another place
To find that saving graceI’m moving on alone over ground that no one owns
Past statues that atone for my sins
There’s a guard on every door
And a drink on every floor
Overflowing with a thousand amens

Cracking video! Nice to see a B-24 being used as a camera ship. And there’s nothing wrong with the music! I’m trying to work out who it is though. My first thoughts were Tom Petty (although for some reason Ry Cooder sprang to mind).
There’s enough music buffs on these forums to identify it. Unfortunately the video comments don’t say but personally I think it matches the vid nicely.
Now waits for barrage from people who DON’T like proper rock ‘n’ blues being played on an aviation video!

Good video – gotta agree with the music, though!

WAS gonna agree with you Jim, having toured round various museum/collections in East-Anglia (over the last 25 years) & been bored to tears with…..”Oh God – PLEASE NOT…….NOT ‘Moonlight Serenade’ YET AGAIN, (for the 476,000th time)”
and then I watched your ‘You Tube’ link…..
Ye Gods – what is that awful hick-music/whine.
WHY do folks INSIST on playing nerve grating crap/music over the top of a good video ???
