Hi guys and girls.
I received a post on my forum from a guy who wanted to know the following and I realised that I knew very little about the subject and this does feel a little silly to me as I should know having a group called East Of Scotland Aviation Research. Here is his post. Can anyone help with the details?
***I would like to know if you have any data on the bombing of Edinburgh in WWII.
When was Edinburgh first attacked?
How many times was Edinburgh attacked?
When was Edinburgh last attacked?***
Now I know that during WW2 that the first bombing was 16th of October 1939 and that between 12 and 14 German aircraft were involved. But as to the two other questions I have no idea. Does anyone know?

RE: Bombing of Edinburgh in Scotland during WW2 (Edinburgh area)
The first Bombing raid (9 Ju88s of 1/KG30)on UK territory was on shipping Firth Of Forth, Monday Oct 16 1939, incidentally HMS Edinburgh was damaged.
The best books for this are ‘The Blitz Then & Now’ Vol 1,2 &3.
I have all three volumes and there are many Edinburgh entries
regards
Tony

I think I recommended the following book to you once before- “This Present Emergency” byAndrew Jeffrey. It gives full details and is very readable.
Hope this is helpful.
