I was reading an online article about the bombing of St Peter Port in Guernsey on June 28th 1940
It states that three German aircraft attacked the port but neglects to suggest the type of aircraft that attacked.
Does anyone know the aircraft and if possible the unit to which these planes belonged.

Six Heinkel (IIIs ?) bombers attacked harbours of St Helier and St Peter Port. Three at each location maybe ?
Twenty nine died in Guernsey, and nine in Jersey. From bombs and machine gun fire.
