This could provoke some reaction for and against. Personally I quite like it:

If it brings more visitors to Pima, it’s fine with me.

Here are a few shots from my trip to the Pima Air & Space Museum yesterday. At first, I really didn’t care for these, but the do sort of grow on you.

I normally hate such things done to Iconic machines but this is rather nice and they can come over and do mine if they like :D:D

I’m here in Tucson, and will be hitting both Pima A&SM and the Bone Yard… should be interesting to see some of these airframes. With all of the street art I’m seeing around town, I’m surprised they’re not letting more in to do this.

These airframes are unlikely to be restored to full flying or museum standard, they are ultimately most likely to be scrapped, therefore using them as a canvas is better than letting them just rot away, gives them a second life and considering how many of each type are at the yard, one or two more with a different coat of paint won’t make much difference.
Plus I rather like the artwork on them.

Artistically bankrupt – but at least another coat of paint should protect the airframes…

I’ve been to Pima Air museum a few weeks ago and I liked the project – considering this is not museum aircraft, but they were actually painted and taken from the storage facilities. To find some C-117 pics of this project chekc out my flickr album:

I didn’t find the art work particularly clever , interesting or inovative ,But to each his own , someone will find merit in it !!
