My old mate Bob Hannan(ex Nav/Sparky RAAF/Coastal Command No 282 Corwall 1944-45, has given me a lot of his aircraft book’s, as he is now moving in to a nursing home 🙁 .
And I have not stopped reading them for the last 3 week’s!!! 😉
So this is what I have now Lady’s and Gent’s 😎 .
JUST TO GET A BED! by Edwin Wheeler D.F.C.(signed by Eddie to Bob 18 August 1990)great read and quiet funny at time’s.
ENEMY COAST AHEAD by Guy Gibson V.C.(also a great colour post card of Wing Commander Guy Gibson V.C. D.S.O. D.F.C. sitting down reading a book among Poppie’s on a sunny day, Reproduced from a British official colour transparency taken 22 July 1943).
R.A.F. BIGGIN HILL by Graham Wallace.
THE HISTORY OF RAF MANSTON 1916 – 1986 3rd Edition by Rocky Stockman MAIE RAF(very interesting and a great read).
WARPLANES OF THE WORLD 1918-1939 by J.H.Taylor (has helped me work out all the plane’s from the RAF propagander film from 1935 I had tapped off the tele a while back).
ACTION STATIONS, Military Airfields of Cambridgeshire by Michael J.F. Bowyer(1987 and signed by a old pilot whose name is hard to make out).
MARCHING AS TO WAR by Don Charlwood(signed by Don to his mate Bob), Bob has already given me a copy of No Moon Tonight.
Battle of Britain by Alfred Price( large book type with great photo’s)1990.
A great one for us Aussie’s tooo!!!
The Road to Riam F/O Ian Pederson D.F.C.(1925-1992 R.I.P).
finished and published by his Wife Beryl in 1999.
Has some great story’s and picture’s about his time with the RAAF No 4 Sqd flying Boomerang’s and Wirraway’s up north in 1944/45.
The rest are Mag type book’s from Bob’s travel’s back and forward’s to the U.K. over the year’s.
RAF BATTLE OF BRITAIN yearbook 1940/1990.
RAF St Mawgan Air Day’89.
B of B Memorial Flight 1989.
B of B Memorial Flight 1993.
B of B Supplement from 1990 (very few page’s but top stuff)
Also a cover lift out of a “YOU” Mag June 1990, LORDS OF THE SKIES, Which when openned up has a Picture called THE LAST OF THE FEW, with about 50 or so of the old lad’s in front of a Spit, But it has not the name’s of them!!!!.
That’s about it I think for now, soon I will have many Question’s for some good thread’s to start.

G’day Phil,
Well done on being in a position to be given the haul of books. I’m sure Bob gave them to you because he knows they’d have a great home. The book ‘The Road to Riam’ is obviously of most interest to me (can’t think why!). Are there any contact details for Beryl Pederson? If so then I might try to contact her and see if she has any copies left.
Hope all is well mate. Take it easy.
Cheers,
Matt

Three Cheer’s for the Bomber Boy’s for their effort during the Battle of the Barges.
Seem’s most the credit only went to fighter boy’s back home during this time of the B of B, they did there part to stop ” Sealion ” as well.
Cheer’s all, Tally Ho! Ho! Phil.
