Boost gauge adaptor plates

Were there other “earlier” boost gauge adaptor plates than 5C/4205 ?, & if so were they made of Bakelite or Aluminium etc ?.
The ones I can see in the panel photo look as though they are square, & appear black in colour.

Any ideas ?.

I found a picture of a 5C/4205 on my computer and it looks a bit different to the adapter shown above. The new boost gauge is central within the plate. I found this auction on Ebay which may give more details.

I’ve seen this type, but it is the earlier one (6a/700) that was used on my panel.

And Whitley 😎

And the type I hope to make a panel etc for LOL.

Funnily enough, the panel photo shows the gauge mounted on the front of the adaptor plate, not behind it.

Thanks again for the info.

Hi Mike

Many thanks for the photo’s & dimensions, they are the last ones I need to finish the drawing “with the exception of the compass card holder mounting screw hole centre’s”.

I have converted the dimentions into imperial/decimal & measured the holes drawn on the panel label assembly drawing, & they match, which hopefully proves that the drawing I have is full sized, as this drawing is the only one I could find for the instrument panel, it is very detailed, but missing nearly all the dimensions.

If possible could you please let me know the diameter of the screw holes when you get a chance ?.

Many thanks again.

They are 83mm square, outside mounting holes 69mm square, the circular hole is 17mm from bottom , 11mm from the sides, 4mm from top, it is 2 mm thick.
You may want to make a cardboard one as I have used a VERY old vernier gauge.
Kind Regards Mike

Hi Mike

The specs/dimensions would be most appreciated if you can help, as it’s just about the last bit of info I need before I send the CAD drawings off for cutting.
Cheer’s.

Hi Bob, 6a/700, alloy or brass paint can be matt or crinkle/crackle call it what you will…do you need a photo or specs?

Kind Regards Mike
