Born again at Old Warden

Back before kids and life in airshow-starved Western Australia I was a display regular with my trusty T-70. After a lapse of a generous ten years I’ve bought a Nikon D-300 off a friend. He bundled in a Sigma 300mm lens, which while serviceable lags a little when focussing. Consequently some of these shots were taken on another borrowed lens – a Nikon fixed 300mm, a bit of a beast but I was happy with the results bearing in mind I feel like a novice all over again!

Please feel free to comment – I can’t promise the quality of many of the photographers that post regularly here! I’m also keen for recommendations for a good value 300mm zoom to purchase ready for next year.

Thanks for the kind comments, all. Ollie – having just Ebayed a Nikon 18-55 VR, I’ll keep a look out for the 70-300.

As my wife is pestering me to “get rid” of my endless masses of old photos I may have a bit of a scanning session an upload some vintage shots soon. I am a bit wary, though, as I’ve not looked through them in a while and they are all taken on the very-manual-focus T-70…….

Nice photos and the Nikon 70-300VR is a nice lens for reasonable money.
