I shared a stall with a good friend of mine. We really enjoyed the day and it was good to catch up with people.
The stall pricing was perfect and allowed collectors such as us to market surplus items from our respective collections. Personally I think that this is the way aerojumbles need to go to survive especially if the dealers and new stock are no longer there like it was back in the day. Prices must be keen enough to entice individuals to stall out and release fresh items into the market. I too hope that Brenzett returns and offers something similar for the casual seller.
I did think that the number of members of the public attending was down on previous years, which was a shame. Anyway thanks to all at BDAC for putting the event on.

My first attendance at this event. I spotted the following… quantity of tiger moth parts, lots of hunter cockpit parts, Meteor parts. Also control grips including: Appache Longbow, Mirrage, Tornado, Buccaneer. Also Vulcan and Victor throttle controls. Mossie bomb rack, VC10 instrument panel, Vulcan ejector seat and Hawker Typhoon primer pump complete with the panel and labels, Mossie exhaust stubb. At 20 squid a table it seems very reasonable to me. Hope it continues as far more fun than eBay. The museum is the Cherry on top the progress on the Jag is remarkable.

I was quite pleased with what I came away with these being an Andover Yoke, Propeller hub and a nice large reference book on the Sud-Est Caravelle. I must say not as many stalls as I’ve seen there before in the past but in the mix were quite a few quality stores which in turn is much better than quantity. The museum were selling some surplus bits a pieces from the Comet 2 which they recently acquired. As usual most of the museums cockpits were open for inspection and available for sitting inside. Similar to visits in previous years I was left with the impression that this was more of a buyers market as opposed to a sellers market as there didn’t seem to be a lot of customers, I would be interested to read any thoughts from the stall holders. The sun shone for this event, great location on an active airfield coupled with the museum and friendly staff. Great breakfast at the airfield cafe ! All in all it was worth the 200 mile round trip! As far as aerojumbles go all I can say is use it (if you can) or lose it!
Thankyou to the event organisers !
Hi Fly.buy.
reference the Comet 2 parts there appeared to be some nice pieces from hatches, wing inlets, wing panels, interior passenger trays and even a passenger seat and all very reasonably priced. didn’t see the Andover yoke though must of arrived to late. although there was a good selection of jet era Grips.
Like you say a good venue with loads to explore and see ie cockpits etc..
And worth the early start and the 2 hour drive..

Hi
Did anyone else go today? what did you think?
Did anyone get any bargains, i personally came away fairly happy as managed to get hold of a nice MG17 gun relic apparently from a ME109, also a nice framed Robert Taylor print “Battle of Britain VC” James Nicholson 16th 1940. pleased as this print appears to be getting harder to find these days. (A big thank you to both the sellers for letting me have both these items a little cheaper than originally priced..
Also as always Great to chat to some of the forum members.
Like you say (Runway06) long live aerojumbles, as getting less and less.. lets just hope if Brenzett comes back that it is well supported.. for sellers and buyers a like..

Looking forward to this one, Long live aerojumbles !

I too would have preferred a Sunday as I have missed the previous ones due to work. Fortunately i’d already paid the table fees before a job came in.
If my stuff doesn’t sell on Saturday it’ll just go back into the collection – I don’t tend to sell on eBay so it’ll be just the one chance to grab a few nice/rare bits 😉 – and always interested in swapsies rather than beer tokens.

I’ll be there, too. Table booked and vehicle loaded for a trip down tomorrow to be at Old Sarum first thing Sat to set up.
Not a lot with me this time as my (second) van was nicked the week following the last Aeroboot at Newark. Of course, my jumble was still in the back and the whole lot was found burnt out a month later. That’s one way of reducing one’s stock!
I will be bringing a fair few instruments and a bare but otherwise complete and good condition Vulcan B1, 3K1 seat. It’s marked “1st Pilot XA913”.
See you there.
Anon.

Sounds like you’ll have some stuff that I’d be interested in. Problem is, it’s another aero boot on a Saturday – a day I generally work on. Maybe this affects just me, but I do miss several of these type events because of the day chosen. Sunday’s are much better!

Just bumping this up to remind everyone…
Thankfully this year I’m not working so have a table booked (with Ian) and am having a bit of a clear out of my collection so will have some 1950’s Jet stuff including a couple of rare throttle boxes (!), a selection of grips, lots of odd bits, instruments, some flying kit and books/manuals.
Only fly in the ointment may be if my ‘little boy’ who had a minor op at the vet yesterday takes poorly and we have to take him back in.
