We are pleased to announce the formal opening of Bottisham Airfield Museum on Sunday 17th October between 10.30am-4pm.
Bottisham was the home to various RAF, Belgian and USAAF units during WW2 and is perhaps most famously associated with 361st FG, the “Yellowjackets.”

Attractions on the day will include: –
– A flyover from a Fokker DR1 (weather & serviceability allowing)
– Military vechicles
– Re-enactors
– Militaria stalls
– Airfield tours
– A collection of lovely A-2 flying jackets
The museum is one of the airfield buildings in Bottisham village. Bottisham is approximately 10 minutes drive from Cambridge. A map can be found at: –

T’was a good day indeed. Good luck and a thank you to all those involved.
The vehicles came from all over, with four from lads local to me. But out of all the vehicles and re-enactors this chap on the bicycle really looked the part!

Well done chaps!
Had a very enjoyable visit to Bottisham today!
The weather was great, lots of interesting vehicles, good exhibitions, met a few old mates and to crown it all, riding around the old airfield in a 1942 Willys Jeep! We stopped at the site of a collision between a 361st FG Mustang and a 78th FG Thunderbolt to hear from eyewitnesses and lay some flowers.
Well done to all involved – lots of time and effort obviously involved so far, and the museum will hopefully go from strength to strength!
Will post some pictures if I can work out how!
