Thanks for the info. I think that model was the last true Riley. The later ones were cloned from other BMC models.
Best regards

I spoke with the owner and commented that although old it didn’t look old enough for the period only to be told it actually came out in the late 30s. This one was 1947 I think he said. The design was way ahead of its time. Most cars were square like boxes. It was in great condition with the 2 RAF Ensigns on the front wings.

Great pics. Looks like a fun day. Loved the Riley. I lusted after one of those in the early ’60’s but they were a much sought after item even then.

What a fantastic day, This is why i tend to do only the small re-enactment venues, Friendly people, great organisation, and a terrific way of raising money for needy causes…Big thanks to Jason for the invite (hang in there mate, you and the museum team are doing a wonderful job) also to Gary Dean who educated the Luftwaffe on the P-51s finer points ( awesome work Gary, any chance of building a 109?) and a big thanks to the other folks who turned up on the day for not giving the Luftwaffe to much of a hard day…Even though it was hard watching the gun camera footage in the hall.

No it wasn’t me with the models. Its was Gary who is also in the cockpit dressed in Luftwaffe gear. I spent a lot of time in the cockpit.
Thats me in the P51 cockpit in Wyvernfan’s photo.

Hey Tarkey – that was you with the 109 and 190 models was it? Very good!
I can prove I was there this morning – my grandson is on the edge of one of your photos of the military vehicles!
