Hi
Can anyone please help towards the i.d. of this Boulton Paul Gun turret control grip any information on this type of firing control and set up would be helpful, The information that i am trying to establish is whether these grips were fitted to all types of B.P. turret or were they different types between marks. as i believe they were fitted to a variety of aircraft from as early as the Defiant right through to the Shackleton.
There are some markings on this particular grip that read as follows on the tag
137A15 1
???CADM69
stamped into casing 2011
?5E2
also 476 (below firing button)
The firing button itself is marked No 5C/534 and with AM in between the Kings crown would this possibly make it wartime or would these of also been fitted to later aircraft.
As always any help would be very much appreciated.

The button has stores prefex 5D not 5C. 5D is armaments electrical bits whilst 5C is general electrical bits. It is a 5D/534 as can be plainly seen in the photos you posted.

Sorry to resurrect this thread, well, actually, I’m not as it has excellent value. I have a similar handle to Brad’s. However, the tube rod out the bottom (with internal Bowden cable) is broken some 5 inches along it. The plate has…A137 15-1, CADM69, EHW. Any ideas. Don’t think E model as long tube
