Box Brownie 1952 Heathrow shots

With grateful thanks to Mark 12 for cleaning up these old Box Brownie shots taken by my father Colin Overton at Heathrow c1952 from the few photos in the collection with dates.
Here is the improved version of the Connie shot shown previously:

Here is an Air France Sud-Est S.E.161 on the runway (thankyou Peter for the id- I couldnt recognise this type myself)

And a Sebena DC3 looks like OC-AGW – I wonder if it is still extant? The others here are likely scrapped 30-40 years ago….

A closeup of the Boeing previously shown

Hi

Would that be Panshanger near Welwyn Garden City then?

Anthony

Certainly could be, I cannot think of any alternatives.
I think the gemini looks silver with that uneven shading, rather than any solid color, although with black and white film it isnt easy to guess colours right….
Unfortunately the remaining 2 Heathrow shots to share dont include the control tower. I am pleased to know that the DC3 is still flying
I am glad that these pix interest forum users, after i have enjoyed other contributors stuff so much over the years….

Dc-3 is OO-AUW still in the USA as N6903 c/n26297. Gemini is possibly G-AKHJ ??

Panshanger’s quite possible.
I don’t know about 1952 as a) I hadn’t been there then and b) it’s the year I was born so my aircraft recognition was nothing special, but there was certainly a Gemini based there in around 1955.

IIRC the colour was cream so that could be the same one.

Somebody will probably now tell me they were all cream…

Great to see these. They would probably not be accepted to be printed in a magazine but on here you can share them with many people who enjoy looking at them. Thanks.
