Hi Gang… a few pics fro you from BQH, im not overally impressed with any of them. I got them developed at a Klick Photopoint outlet… I will never go back. They are so dark. The pictures are dark to begin with and you know how my scanner reacts with darkness! 😡
Ah well heres a few for now until I get a few more scaned in to my computer. 🙂

Try using 100 ISO film for less grain, in daylight you’ll be just fine. 400 is a bit contrasty for my liking in daylight.
Fuji Superia and Kodak Gold are good brands with good colour reproduction and can be bought in multipacks from places like Jessops.
I e-mailed Fred Seggie off a.net for some tips and he suggests giving slide film a try for supa dupa quality. It’s old hat to those guys now mind you, the majority of whom have digital SLR’s to die for !

i’ve found that if i send pics away to these Truprint dealers etc they have that high a volume of prints to do, they really do sometimes have a poor quality – inking perhaps not done as often? Less care?

Wow 400 iso, should get enough light on it.
Its probably their processing as you thought, have a go with the exposure though and see what you think, I always find my images are very dark in poor light without it.

Hey dan, cheers for the comments…. according to the packaging that the film came in, its a 24exp 400iso. Its a Truprint film. Up until biggin hill I was using Fuji film.

They all look good shots.
About the darkness, what film ISO are you using?
It looks a pretty dull day and you’d probably need something like 200, 100 if its nice and sunny.
If you are using 200 then you may like to try setting the exposure compensation up (by about 1/2 step). I have recently started doing this on mine and it does look better, but results may vary on cameras, something to try out and experiment with on dull days.
Don’t get disheartened, its one of your early photo shoots with the camera, it will take time and you’ll improve as you go on.

Cheers Monster, I never thought of trying Kazaa, I forget that I even Have it on my computer sometimes, as I rarely use it… only if a decent song should come out, I will download it.
Ta Matey.

A nice selection of photos (again), Andrew. Keep them coming! 😉
By: A330Crazy - 24th June 2003 at 00:01
Cheers all for the nice comments. It just feels so disheartening, when you spend all that money on a decent camera, and you get results like this back.
Kev, I do not have Photoshop, but perhaps its a program I should consider looking into… how much though?
Also I have been told by other to put them onto a CD, but I have done this before, and had terrible results, though at the time I was using a different camera… my old one.
Ah well I shall keep trying. Next stop for me will be an LGW trip, then onto Fairford, via LHR, and then Redhill Airshow.
Cheers once again all. 🙂 Appreciate it kindly. 🙂

still good to see your own work tho andy! Cheers

Andy.
Another good selection as always. Your compositions are often great, really fill the viewfinder and your motion shots are sharp too. A bit of editing in photoshop or some such can work wonders.
Do you run XP? I’d have my photos put on CD as well if I were you then you don’t have to scan them in. You can edit directly through ‘My Pictures’ or put them through something like photoshop.
Don’t get disheartened. Years ago I used to shoot roll after roll of film of rally cars and the results were far worse than what you’re getting now.
