Just watched ‘Richard & Judy’ and Branson was a guest, during the interview he said he would love to operate Concorde jointly with BA, Virgin and BA logos on opposite sides of the fin and all operating/maintenance costs split straight down the middle, he even suggested operating the fleet as an individual stand alone airline, now this is the most feasible idea I’ve yet heard as a potential solution to keeping Concorde in service, with BA’s maintenance skill and crews and Virgins PR and marketing machine in full swing maybe just maybe………….

I got a model of the pepsi cola concorde. 😀

cheers for that DCFLY. That was the prime example of the slow concorde that had speed restrictions on it due to the heat and no white paint syndrome!

Thats correct Andrew,
G-N81AC=G-BOAC
G-N94AA=G-BOAA
G-N94AB=G-BOAB
G-N94AD=G-BOAD
G-N94AE=G=BOAE…………………..these flew for Branniff/BA
G-N94AF=G-BOAF……………………flew for British AErospace
5 Air France Concordes also flew for Branniff
Dave
btw, did anyone see the Pepsi Cola c/s ?
By: A330Crazy - 30th April 2003 at 22:53
Because they were also operating flight for Braniff at the time??? I know that Braniff leased a few of them… not sure if this is the reason though?
By: EGNM - 30th April 2003 at 22:44
why were the reggies on some concordes changed to G-N??A? for example on the above pic G-N84AD? Seems wierd

I think Branson can smell success on the horizon and both he and BA knows that if Virgin should get hold of Concorde aircraft, they’ll actually be making a profit.
Perhaps he could have some luck by approaching Air France? Or are their aircraft all spoken for?

Here she is, SIA on one side and BA on the other…
By: A330Crazy - 30th April 2003 at 19:55
They did this with SIA in the 70’s didnt they! One side painted in the SIA c/s and the other in the BA c/s?
By: EGNM - 30th April 2003 at 19:04
i wish… but sumhow i just cant see it happening!

Sounds good to me. I reckon BA will pour cold water on the idea though for fear of admitting Branson had a better idea than them.
Branson seems to be the only airline operator coming up with positive suggestions to keep the thing in the air. :p
